After upgrading to ESX 5.5 U2 and vCenter 5.5 U2 - I was receiving the following error during a system-initated or manual vMotionrequest:
pbm.fault.PBMFault.summary
After restarting the "VMware vSphere Profile-Driven Storage Service" on the vCenter server, I was able to successfully vMotion.
c:\> net stop vimPBSM
c:\> net start vimPBSM
